Within the area of ancient Elmet there have been many battles of historical note. Towton, Ferrybridge, Seige of Pontefract Castle, Sandal, ECW Battle of Wakefield, Tadcaster, Leeds, Whinwood, Castleford, Bramham. Anyone looking into any of these or have any differing ideas on them??? :c...

Today the memorial to the fallen of the Battle of Towton 1461 was erected in Saxton churchyard over the bodies of those found at Towton Hall back in 1996. Photos have been put on the main site in the Mediaeval Battles page. -- Edited by JayDee at 01:51, 2005-05-03
