Neolithic Track - Hatfield Moors


The 5000 year old wooden 'corduroy' track reported found at Hatfield is in a wonder of preservation and will give a wealth of information on the pre-Stonehenge period. But why is it that whenever any such find is made the first explanation given is that it was likely used for 'religious offerings' ? I quote Dr. Henry Chapman from the article in the Yorkshire Post.


How did these people manage to live when every ruddy thing they did was seemingly for some religious service? My mind is in severe boggle mode.
