StrathAlcut was the basis of modern day Strathclyde. It's capital was Dunbarton. One of its most famous leaders was Rhydderch Hael in the mid 6th century. The patron of St Mungo, he was a Christian (tho' of the Scots Iona / Lindisfarne church, not of Rome).
